Deal signed between T-Mobile and Nokia for 5G Technology at $3.5b
A deal has been sealed between T-Mobile and Nokia, which is about $3.5 billion and will provide T-Mobile from Nokia’s 5G technology, infrastructure and services.
Neville Ray said that all of the T-Mobile company is on the 5G boat, while Nokia will help T-Mobile into building a 5G Network on 28 GHz and 600 MHz of millimeter wave. It is done according to the 5G New Radio standards that these frequency have been adopted.
For both sides, the deal has been a major move because T-Mobile has been the first major company to publicly announce its intention to invest heavily into 5G infrastructure and hardware, which in turn gives Nokia an advantage over other network providers such as Huawei or Ericsson. Both of them are looking towards new opportunities as 4G is no longer a trend and business is going slow in that domain. It is also another sign that 5G operators and even faster networks are going to be available in the near future.
