Toyota to build a smart city for our future

The country of cherry blossoms, like China and South Korea, strongly focuses on ecological solutions. The best example of this is to be the latest ecological project that impresses with its momentum.

The Woven City concept was presented in January this year at CES 2020 in Las Vegas, and now its implementation has begun. The Japanese intend to include in it the quintessence of their technological achievements, which are impressive. Not taking away the ecological breeze and full symbiosis with Mother Nature. The originator and contractor of the project is the Toyota concern and a Danish architectural firm called BIG. The authorities invest not only huge amounts of money in the development of vehicles of the future, but also want to create for them and their owners a completely new environment for a better life.

The city of the future will be built on an area of 70 hectares, which are located near the slopes of the holy mountain of Fuji. It's the perfect place for this type of investment, because they are located far from the hustle and bustle of the center of Tokyo. Toyota engineers focus on minimalism and ecology. In Woven City, the latest technology is not to be seen. It is to be perfectly integrated into a modern, functional and people-friendly environment.

The group's representatives emphasize that the city is to be a show and become a role model not only for other native cities, but also for the whole world. In Woven City, all practical technologies are to be composed and presented in such a way that they can be immediately transplanted to other places.

Residents will be able to count on numerous walking and cycling paths, intelligent pedestrian crossings, e-dustbins, robots patrolling the streets and monitoring health, parks, as well as places of relaxation and entertainment. There will also be all kinds of shops, institutions and educational facilities. The energy needed to power streetlights and all facilities will come from renewable sources, namely solar panels scattered throughout Woven City.

As the Country of Cherry Blossoms focuses on the hydrogen future of the automotive industry, a whole network of hydrogen stations for the needs of private and public vehicles will also be built in Woven City. Residents will also be able to count on lots of greenery and enjoy specially treated water that will provide them with all the minerals.

About 2,000 people are to live in Woven City for a good start. The city is to be ready by the end of 2021. If this solution works, and everything indicates it, then in the future the Japanese will build more intelligent cities. This is very important, because our civilization is already at such a high level of technological advancement that in the end it would be appropriate to make practical use of this valuable output for the good of all.

Maybe we can also visit the city and write about it here for our special readers, why not? Hopefully the project will be completed very soon, as it is planned. For now, we can watch the plan below:
