A fully electric and autonomous vehicle from Apple is coming soon!
We have been talking about the electric and autonomous car a lot. Now, the new one comes from the Apple side as we heard from gossips.
Also, you may heard about the vehicle of the future from the Cupertino giant for several years, but the company has not officially confirmed that it is working on it. Meanwhile, great personalities of the automotive world appear among its new employees.
Apple's latest acquisition became Michael Schwekutsch, a well-known Tesla specialist who dealt with electric drives in the company for such vehicles as the new Roadster and Semi truck. He also had the pleasure of working with BMW on their electric athlete i8, as well as with the Porsche 918, Fiat 500eV and the Volvo XC90. Sounds interesting.
It is not much known about the progress of Apple's work on the vehicle of the future, but it is known that the new car is born as part of the Titan project. Experts constantly monitoring the development of the company believe that behind this enigmatic name is the idea to create a fully electric and autonomous city vehicle, which is not only to become as popular in the US as the iPhone, but also to revolutionize travels in American metropolises.
Apple has been testing its several dozen autonomous Lexuses for some time on the Californian roads. Although a few bumps have already been scored, none of them have yet led to any dangerous events of their own fault (driver or software error). Apple thinks that the first autonomous vehicles with the company logo will go on the road for 3-4 years.
So, if you ask us, it is very soon. If we see the first autonomous Apple car on the road by 2023, then the world will be adapting itself to this technology after the year of 2025. Most of the large automotive manufacturers promise to produce much more electric vehicles by 2025, as you may remember from our other articles and posts.
