Poland’s doubtless most famous payment system BLIK wants to allow its users to pay at all points of sale in the world. Moreover, they will do it with Mastercard, where it’s accepted contactless payments.
Have you ever been to Poland? If yes, most probably you have seen the BLIK sticker at any market you visited. Thanks to this app or system, you are allowed to make payment without having your credit or bank card. And now, BLIK wants to jump into the new markets.
When you open a bank account in Poland, you see the BLIK option at the application of your bank. Once you decide to activate it, then you can start using the system whenever you want.
33 million transactions!
Suffice it to say that only in the first half of 2018 the Polish Payment Standard, Blik's operator, recorded almost 33 million transactions. That’s amazing. Isn’t it?
How the BLIK works?
When you walk into the cashier, they ask if you pay by cash or card. Well, say ‘by BLIK’. Then you click the ‘generate code’ link on your bank application. It generates single-use code for you. At the last step, you enter that pin code on the pos machine. That’s all.

BLIK to foreign e-commerce systems!
You can make payment via BLIK at the e-commerce portals in Poland. Thanks to this system, we will be able to do it in foreign markets as well. The Internet makes the world reachable for everyone. Imagine that you can make shopping at an American online store and pay via BLIK. This means, only one system allows you to make payment all around the world. Awesome!
Both parties to the agreement are also to acquire new clients outside of Poland.

Most probably this cooperation with Mastercard will start running by the second quarter of next year. The launch of a joint initiative will be possible thanks to the Mastercard Digital Enablement Services (MDES) tokenization service. This offer is for both smartphone users on Android and iOS.
