The electric Cybertruck, presented almost two weeks ago by Elon Musk, did not have wipers or mirrors. Now it turns out that the production version will not be equipped with them either. Tesla is preparing interesting innovations.
New cars are nothing like those of the last century. Almost everything has changed, except the wipers. Although today's ones are more aerodynamic and much more efficient in cleaning the front and rear windows, there is still a long way to perfection. Tesla engineers believe that it is time to get rid of them from cars, because it is simply an inefficient and unsightly body lines a relic of the past.
The Tesla vehicles have been installing well-functioning systems for intelligent switching, adjusting and switching off of the wipers for several years. Many other vehicle brands also have similar inventions, but Elon Musk is a pioneer in this matter. After all, Tesla has just filed a patent application for an innovative way of cleaning windows.
Engineers want to use the power of the latest lasers. From the application, we can learn that several laser cannons will be installed in different parts of Tesla vehicles. The cameras' task will be to detect and the laser system to remove all impurities quickly and efficiently. It may seem that the lasers can't do it, but if they literally repel or burn insects and flying dust in flight, the idea can be very practical.
Tesla did not disclose when it will apply its innovative windscreen cleaning system to the first vehicles, but we can expect it to be a new version of the Model S, Roadster and Cybertruck.
We will see what other manufacturers are going to do after they see this innovative idea from Tesla. Also time will tell us if this idea will work for all the vehicles in the future.
Can you imagine a car without wipers and mirrors? Well, Tesla will show us such a vehicle in the near future.
