Imagine a future where soldiers control an army of drones on the battlefield with their mind and enjoy other improvements provided by the brain-computer interface. 

The American army wants to have in its ranks the so-called soldiers-cyborgs already in the middle of the current century, and all with the help of new technologies, such as neural implants, which will allow direct communication and data transfer between man and machine.

Americans believe that by 2050 it will be possible to technologically "redesign" a man to give him an advantage in battle, and everything has been included in the latest report prepared by the United States Army Combat Capabilities Development Command.

Through the convergence of biology, engineering and artificial intelligence we will be able to strengthen man in a way that will change his vision, hearing, thinking, moving and communication - says Dr. Peter Emanuel, one of the scientists at CCDC Chemical Biological Center and the main author of the research. In an interview for the website Insider also mentions that the expected medical and social development will lead to progress that we do not even dream of today in the field of prosthetics and implants, such as cardiac pacemakers.

The report entitled "Cyborg Soldier 2050: Human/Machine Fusion and the Implications for the Future of the DOD" says directly about the possibility of introducing changes to the human eye to increase perceptive capabilities, the ear to improve listening and communication, or to improve muscle control and strength. However, it is also one science-fiction idea, i.e. the brain implant option, which will allow you to control various machines (i.e. drones). 

Of course, there are still many obstacles along the way, but scientists are confident that they will be able to deal with everything in the next decade.

In their opinion, special operators, pilots, drone operators and intelligence personnel could use these implants around 2030. The potential for direct data exchange between human neural networks and microelectronic systems can revolutionize tactical communication, accelerating the transfer of key data. What's more, these technologies can also be used outside of the art of war, they will change the way we perceive and understand the world, as well as what it means to be human.
