The Electric Plane is Flying for the First Time in History Over Poland
Category : Technology
An electric plane will fly over the next few days. This is the first such event in the country. Electric aircrafts are the future of aviation, and Poland has become a testing ground for these machines.
The Finnish company Pipistrel was the first to start serial production of electric small aircrafts. Poland became the second country after Finland in which these machines appeared and are thoroughly tested. Alpha Electro took the first flights in the country on the Wrocław-Warsaw route, with stopovers in Katowice and Częstochowa.
The machine is equipped with a 60 kW electric motor and a 21 kWh battery. Alpha Electro can fly at speeds up to 157 km / h and on one battery charge, which lasts approx. 55 minutes, it can stay in the air for just over an hour. Maybe the range and time of flight does not impress, but still it sounds great.
In fact, Alpha Electro is a research base for fully electric passenger aircraft of the future, which will be able to take on board at least 150 people and fly thousands of kilometers. In this way you will be able to quickly connect the largest European metropolises. According to experts from the world of aviation, such machines are expected to appear in the sky in the next 8-10 years.
Siemens has also recently introduced its electric aircraft. The machine from Germany is slightly larger than the Finnish Alpha Electro and can take on more people or cargo on board. Meanwhile, engineers from NASA have shown that electric aircraft do not have to be powered by ordinary batteries. The technology developed by them is based on cryogenic hydrogen fuel.
Electric technology becomes more popular in our life day after day as you all see. Sure it will take some time to stay in our daily life. However, we can all wait for it, we believe.
